LinkedIn has changed my life.

Here are 12 lessons I learned from it in 2023.

12 Lessons that can how you use LinkedIn - Imran Khushal

1. Connect & Transform:

Life-changing moments can stem from just one connection—be it a client, mentor, partner, or love interest.

Craig Dean and I met online, and he became my client, then a partner, and we started a personal branding agency in Dubai. In 9 months together we served 100+ clients, and we can't wait to see what we can accomplish in 2024.

2. Give to Receive:

Generosity leads to unexpected rewards. Give freely, and watch what comes your way.

Whether it was posting daily content to LinkedIn guides, to free live shows, to workshops, I did everything I could to give back to my community. It helped me get noticed, attract clients, and build a personal brand.

3. Long-Term Play:

Become a brand by playing the long game—be known for something that makes a real impact.

When I lost all my clients in December 2019, I decided to take LinkedIn by storm and give it my all. This helped me become known for personal branding. Not every CEO or entrepreneur on LinkedIn knows that I help them build their personal brands, but those who do know don't hesitate to contact me.

4. Content Strategy:

Use content strategically; it's a tool, not an end. Don't let perfection stifle creativity.

Having realized that content is a process, I created content that helped my audience, either educated them, entertained them, informed them, and helped my business. Anything that didn't fit this equation I rarely posted on LinkedIn.
