If you use AI to “edit your writing” you must know this:
Even if it’s a comma, or a period, it is still “AI generated.”
Yes, Claude now watermarks everything you ‘edit’ with it.
In other words, it tells everyone you use AI to write.
Even when you added less than .05% with it.
This means:
AI detection tools could still show your writing is “100% human.”
But Claude’s watermark API would tell people “No, it’s AI generated.”
Why am I telling you this?
Because I used Claude to:
Clean my voice notes
Arrange my thoughts
Edit my writing
And that writing passed AI detection.
Because it was almost always mine.
“Except commas, periods, and sometimes some connectors” that I borrowed from AI.
But from now I’m back to manual editing.
Because:
I don’t want AI to watermark my writing.
I don’t want AI to tell people it’s AI generated.
I don’t want AI to take 100% credit of its 0.1% help.
And if you feel the way I feel and looking for a human editor or ghostwriter, we should talk!
